    Trend 2 - Parquet Flooring

The classic look of herringbone and chevron are starting to make a comeback as well as puzzle like geometrics. Parquet flooring was historically made famous by Louis XIV who replaced all the marble in the Palace of Versailles with parquet flooring, this classic look can be modernised by adding colour or by using different materials. This look will add instant texture and interest to the floor.

    Trend 3 - Grey

Grey is the 'new neutral', grey has been trending in other areas of interior for a while and now its starting to emerge in wood. It's a great base as its not overpowering so doesnt fight with any colours, this allows you to accent key elements in your home, whether opting for lighter or darker grey tones.

    Margo Selby for Alternative Flooring

Margo Selby is a woven textile design company that produces exceptional quality fabrics, rugs and accessories, which blend effortlessly with both contemporary and classic interiors.

The Margo Selby for Alternative Flooring collection is inspired by a collection of deflected double weave hand-woven cloths that have been developed on a hand loom. Making on a hand loom was an integral part of the design process for the first carpets, the designs were originally produced as soft silk and wool fabrics and have been blown up and re-coloured to make them suitable for flooring.

Like many of the Margo Selby designs the patterns are inspired by the process of weaving and the uniformed geometric shapes reflect the structured nature of the craft.

Fair Isle, Margo Selby for Alternative Flooring

Shuttle, Margo Selby for Alternative Flooring

Shuttle is derived from the handwoven deflected double cloth weaves.
